Entreprenuer

You may or may not know already, but Ethan is a pretty prolific artist.  He is actually pretty good at making drawings at least when compared to someone like me.  You can tell what his drawing are...not saying he is the next Monet or anything..Regardless, he started this past weekend of offering his drawings to us for money.  Came up with the idea all on his own, just said to David, 'you can have this drawing for $1'.  (consider this fair warning to anyone who will see him in the next week or so!)

My dad came over yesterday; we have Taffy for a few days which that's another story.  Ethan proceeds to give him his pitch.  'You can buy one of my drawings.  For $1 or $7, and I will make you these 3 drawings', so PawPaw being PawPaw buys one for $1, and an entrepreneur is born!!  Last night before bed, he tells me that I can watch him on TV when he is a famous artist :)  He has now decided that he wants a 'stage' in our front yard to display and sell his work and I even heard him pitching it to Ryan and he has developed a 'club' where Ryan can join for $10 and be a member of his 'club' to get his emails and drawing specials (all his words!!!)...this is just snowballing!  After that, heard him offer Ryan a job of taking orders for him :)

We generally try to spend some time right after school at our table doing homework and having snacks and talking about our day.  Some days, the boys are bursting with things to tell, and we have to take turns to get it all out.  Some days, they can't think of anything to tell me (usually a few questions gets something to come up or it will come out later)...well, yesterday, Ethan tells me that his class was doing a writing assignment about Benjamin Franklin, and his teacher called him up and had him read his to the class.  He then told me (and this is the part that I LOVED), that it made him feel proud of himself.  Oh, it was so sweet!!  The look of pride on his face when he said it!

Ginger....she is just so wonderful!  She has me out walking and the boys too....around our neighborhood and lake everyday!  She is always ready for some attention and love.  She actually slept in Ethan's room for part of the night and that thrilled Ethan!!!  She is filling holes in me that I didn't even know were there....I feel a bit like the Grinch on Christmas and my heart has grown over the past few days!  She is pretty tough on toys though....Soccer practice was cancelled last night due to rain, so after karate, the boys and I went to the pet store and bought her some new toys.  We got her 4 in total and decided to give her 2 (one from each boy).  One was a 'tough' raccoon with a tail that you can throw but it isn't just a plush toy...anyway, that one lasted about 3 minutes before she had torn into it and had what little stuffing it had in it - out!!  Then we gave her a rope frisbee thing with a squeaker in the middle...that lasted about 2 minutes until the squeaker was out and dead!!  Her other two toys should last as they are variations or rope toys, but she won't get those yet.  VERY happy that she hasn't touched anything that isn't hers now that I see what damage she can do!
