Happy Birthday to David - and weekend re-cap

Seems our busy week catapulted us into the madness of this weekend!  At 4pm on Friday, we headed north to Cagle's Corn Maize (a 10 acre maze carved out of the corn field).  We met up with the Leary family there.  Took some pumpkin photos (see previous post), then navigated our way through the maize letting the 3 boys be our guides.  It was a fun, meandering walk...and the boys LOVED it!  After the maize, we let the kids play on the jumpy 'pillow' (a big dome, pillow sticking out of the ground) for a while.  Then we headed back home and stopped at Canyons in Downtown Woodstock for some yummy dinner!

Saturday, we were up and going early.  Soccer for the whole morning.  Weather was great - a bit warm still.  After soccer, we went to Shogun, 'man makes the fire' for lunch.  Then in the afternoon, we had a neighborhood Halloween party at our neighbor's house, and they do it REALLY well year after year....a time when the kids get to showcase their costumes before the big day with tons of fun games and just running an playing in their back yard, while the adults get to hang out and talk....this year, we also got to join in their low country boil afterward and hung out by the fire pit.  After HOURS of running and playing, the boys were ready to collapse into bed.  We came home, showered the layers of dirt and fun off everyone, put the boys to bed and watched the end of the fabulous UGA game - where was this team in CU??

Today, we were up early again for David's b-day brunch at his parents....HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAVID!  The boys and I gave him a stock car racing experience as his gift.  He gets a day of classroom instruction, some laps with a pro driver and then some laps on his own.  He LOVES it and can't wait to actually do it!!!  We knew it would be the perfect gift - so it has been hard to keep it a secret!

Now, catching up on getting the house back in order, doing laundry and getting ready for the week (which includes David packing and flying out all too soon)....making my grocery list....Looking forward for a nice early night and some rest to recoup from this weekend!!!
