Ethan the Brave

After dropping Ryan at school this morning, Ethan and I headed over to the Emory area to his pediatric orthopedist (an older, but very nice man, who was probably around when they put the first mammoth-skin casts on broken caveman limbs :) Other than waiting for an hour to be seen and finding out we have a HUGE deductible for 'surgery' which a fracture is classified as 'surgical'....it was a great experience. The dr confirmed that he likely has 2 breaks, one we can see in the x-ray but not clinically and one that is apparent from the exam but not showing in the x-ray. Regardless, we are in a cast for 3 weeks at which time it will be removed, re-x-rayed and hopefully that will be that - the end of Ethan's first (and last!!) break.

Ethan got to choose his cast color and picked RED! Here is a photo of the finished, new cast pre-signatures.

After a morning of casting, we stopped at Flip on the way home (the chef is 'famous'). We got a nice burger and shared a nutella and burnt marshmallow milk shake. Ethan wasn't too impressed as it is more of a fru-fru, gourmet burger place, and he is a more of a simple burger and fries kind of guy :)
