Did we just have a weekend? If so, it certainly was a blur and mostly blended with the week before...
Friday we had a dinner at Ethan's school...fun, but the kids didn't eat, so we got them McD's chicken nuggets on the way home. Saturday started early - we dropped D's car off at Sound Sensations so they could install his satellite radio and then we went to brunch at Flying Biscuit...then straight to sign Mr Ethan up for spring T-ball! He is pretty excited, although he wanted to play that day....let's hope it goes better than soccer :) Poor Ryan is probably going to be our athlete, but he is too young to play anything yet as 3 is really when all that starts. Then spent the later afternoon doing chores and then off to pick up D's car and to dinner at the Melting Pot for Matt's birthday (which is on Tuesday)....there were 12 of us, and fondue is a long dinner regardless, but it took us a full 3 hours!
Sunday - the boys and I went to my grandmother's birthday lunch - her birthday was on Friday. Then home for some quality family time before D had to pack and leave for the airport...only when he went out, his car was dead, so the boys and I had to hop in the minivan and take him to the airport. When we got home, I called BMW roadside assistance and they came out and jumped it off - funny thing is, that it was the same guy that came out a few months ago when my van battery died (left the interior light on over night)...and he even said, I have been on your street recently for the same thing...and I said, I know, it was me - he probably thinks that I need to get my act together!
Funny story - we have a LeapFrog toy that has an astronaut book that Ryan adores....and there is a page with planets, so he loves pushing the 'Venus' one, only he thinks (and repeats over and over again) that it says 'penis'. I honestly see where that gutter humor that men have comes from...and it is present from birth and most likely more readily apparent because of its missing counter on the missing part of the Y chromosome!
Ethan is very in to drawing right now, and his drawings are really good for a 4 year old....very impressionistic! He can get so involved with his 'work'...that and his other latest obsession, the computer - more specifically, Noggin.com. He adores playing all the games on my computer and can use the mouse/keyboard frighteningly well!
Well, starting a new week....hopefully (fingers crossed), D won't travel much if at all the next two weeks, but this one is a long one...from Sunday evening until late Friday night! We have a full weekend...donating blood on Sat afternoon and then I am hosting my annual ladies night party (just prior to Valentine's Day - so it is themed!) - for which D and the boys will entertain themselves outside the house for a few hours while 20-30 ladies enjoy an evening of girl talk and martinis! Then we have a neighborhood thing for the SuperBowl on Sunday - which is nice since we can actually maybe watch the whole game for the first time in years - we usually have to leave at half time to get the boys home and to bed...but we will literally be across the steet!
