I got a call from Dawn on Monday night...she was clearly upset and it was late. She told me that they lost Moose...their ~4 year old Chocolate Lab...their baby I know everyone loves their pets...but he was VERY special to them. They don't have children yet, so he was their baby...their constant companion...he traveled with them on all road trips, he just moved with them (and they chose a house with him in mind), he was a gift for Dawn from Terry on their first Christmas after they got married in November 2003, but in truth he was a gift for both of them and loved very dearly.
He was healthy and very well looked after...he got lots of exercise, well fed, check-ups. His passing is a real mystery. One minute a vibrant active dog and the next just limp and dead. A necropsy (an animal autopsy) is being performed at the University of Minnesota's Vet Center to help determine the cause.
