Friday night, Oupa, Grandy, Lynne & Matt came to our house for dinner. We got an early night and started early Saturday morning. We had gotten my cousin's husband to do our drywall repair on Thursday, so we had to paint all the repaired spots. We did the painting and household chores in the am...then my mom's birthday celebration began around 11:30am.
We had wanted to go to Memphis/Graceland or Biltmore or something, but that didn't work out this time around....so, my two aunts came and my mom and we did lunch at Mittie's Tea Room in Downtown Roswell. Then we opted to pick up a movie at Blockbuster and watch it in our basement theater...we watched Pursuit of Happiness which I think is one of the best movies EVER! Mainly because it is based on a true story - and I LOVE Will Smith and his real life son plays his son in the movie and he is FABULOUS! Great movie! Then we went bowling...and then to the grocery store to pick up chicken and shrimp for dinner. David was good enough to grill for us and then he and the boys along with my cousin Tina joined us for dinner and some German Chocolate Birthday cake. Then we all crashed. It was a great day - I think...and I think Rube enjoyed it!
Got up this morning and got started with breakfast and some more houshold chores (will laundry and dishes ever be done?)...and then we ran out to go to Lowes and lunch at Boneheads which was really good...we are trying to do the South Beach diet thing so it was pretty easy to eat there. Then Ryan and I dropped Ethan and Daddy off at the Shrek The Third movie and we spent an hour or more grocery shopping (stocking up for South Beach). Now, it is Sunday evening and we might have dinner plans with the Whitehurst clan - waiting for them to call back.
Next weekend, Alan & Andrew are moving back to ATL for good!!!
David starts his new job tomorrow! Can't wait to see what it will be like. He still isn't sure what he will be doing his first few weeks.
