The big news that you have all been waiting for - nothing like a cliff-hanger to let me know that I actually do have people out there reading the blog!!!
David is leaving Cognos effective May 11th. He will be joining Blue Line Planning (see link above :) just after graduation. He has been with Cognos for 7 years and in various roles from consulting to consultant management to client management. He has really enjoyed working there, but it is time for a change. This opportunity actually came to David; he was not actively looking. Blue Line Planning is a Cognos partner that focuses on the Enterprise Planning side of the Cognos product line. They have chosen David to completely build their Business Intelligence practice from hiring conultants, securing business, managing day-to-day operations, managing clients, managing projects, etc. It will be a dynamic, challenging and rewarding roll and one that David is excited about diving head into! Blue Line is a successful, established, reputable but young company, and those factors are very attractive to David, and he is very well prepared to take this on given his experience and MBA!
There ya have it! We are very excited and proud and look forward to this new chapter of our lives.
BTW, Blue Line is technically based in the NorthEast, but David will be working from home so we will NOT be relocating! It will involve a fair amount of travel, but what job doesn't....
